Because the cheap number is not the final number. It is the first instalment.
Conventional acrylic jobs in Singapore commonly need repainting within two to five years — the sealer upsells say so themselves, openly promising “5–7 years instead of 2.” A S$900 paint job repeated every three years is not a S$900 paint job. It is a subscription, paid in repaint fees, furniture-moving weekends, and wet-paint smell in a lived-in home. Lime paint does not work that way: it cures by absorbing CO₂ and re-mineralising into the wall itself. There is no film to peel, so there is no cycle to fund.
Acrylic paint seals moisture into a tropical wall. Behind wardrobes and headboards — where air does not move — that trapped humidity becomes mould, bubbling, and peeling, usually discovered years in, usually treated with biocide washes and another coat of the same material that caused it. Lime is breathable: it releases humidity rather than trapping it, and its naturally high pH resists mould without biocides. The wall stays dry because the material lets it.
Read a typical premium package closely and the pattern repeats: kitchen walls extra, sealer coats extra, wall levelling extra. Levelling is where conventional quotes grow the most — and it is precisely the work a new BTO's joint lines and surface defects demand. In our packages, Level 5 dustless resurfacing is not an add-on. It is the foundation of the system, included in the nett figure, because lime paint on an unlevelled wall is a specification error we refuse to make.
This is, admittedly, not the easiest package to sell. It asks you to pay the true cost once instead of the partial cost repeatedly. We think that is the right way round.

Start with a sample kit — S$12, S$19, or S$29 — and brush the mineral onto your own wall, in your own light. Every dollar of the kit is credited in full toward the S$188 site assessment deposit. The assessment, in turn, is what confirms your package price. Each step is small, and each step counts toward the next.

Lime paint is not recommended for direct water exposure or heavy abrasion. Packages cover the dry living areas; wet zones are assessed on site and addressed separately where feasible. We would rather tell you where the material does not belong than sell it everywhere.
The S$188 covers the on-site surface assessment that precedes every quotation. Sample kits (S$12/S$19/S$29) are credited in full toward it — so testing the material first costs you nothing extra on the path to a confirmed package.
